About the Parish Council

**Parish Council Services**

Brandeston Parish Council works on behalf of the community to help maintain and improve the village for residents and visitors. While our powers are limited, we provide and support a range of local services and activities, including:

  • Looking after village assets
  • Reporting on footpaths, verges, and other shared spaces in partnership with Suffolk County and East Suffolk Councils
  • Commenting on planning applications to represent the views of the community
  • Supporting local projects and initiatives that benefit residents
  • Providing a link between the village and other tiers of local government
  • Managing Parish Council finances responsibly and transparently

We also act as a first point of contact for residents wishing to raise local issues, signposting where matters fall under the responsibility of the District or County Councils.

The Parish Council meets regularly throughout the year and all residents are welcome to attend, listen, and raise matters of interest.
